Early in the 1960s, The North Wash Group of wildfowling clubs
was formed, its member clubs being The South Lincolnshire WIldfowlers'
Club, The Erewash & Trent Valley Wildfowlers' Club and The
Leicestershire Wildfowlers' Association.
The North Wash Group gives LWA members access to the coastal
marshes between Butterwick and Friskney sea lane. These marshes
give our members the chance to try flighting duck and the occasional
goose at morning and evening flight and, when conditions permit,
tide flighting.

Experienced members are available to take novice members out
for their first few trips, as tidal marshes can be dangerous places.
They are also on hand to assist with the all-important identification
of quarry species.
The main quarry species encountered are mallard, wigeon and teal,
with the occasional pinkfoot or greylag goose finding its way
into the bag on red-letter days.
Having taken that first stumbling walk over the marsh in the
dark to await morning flight and seen the sunrise over the marsh,
many members find they are hooked on wildfowling for life.
